The University of York is a plate glass university that is situated in the city of York. It is often abbreviated as Ebor. It was founded in 1963. Its campus has expanded to over 30 departments and centres, with several subjects.

The university campus is located in the south-east of the city of York. Its size is around 200 acres. In 2007, the university got permission to make an extension to the main campus. The second campus is Heslington East. It was opened in 2009. It hosts 3 colleges, 3 departments, conference spaces, and sports village. Each College has students’ association that serves various services, like student welfare services and college events.

York Student Television was established in 1967. It is the oldest student television station in England. It was chosen as the best student television station in 2012 and 2014.

University Radio York is the oldest independent radio station in UK. It was the winner of Student Radio Awards Best Station Award in 2005.

The Lemon Press is satire magazine of York. It was launched in 2009 for print and online formats. It won the NUS Award as Best Student Media in 2010.
