University of West Alabama is public university which has motto stated to do something matters. Under Dr. Ken Tucker as the president, this campus has 97 academic staff and 5157 students. It is located in the rural area in Livingstone, Alabama with 600 acres or 2.43 km squares. In this area, the campus is able to serve some academic degrees. They are bachelor, master, specialist, and associate degrees. University of West Alabama also often conducts many shows such as concerts, lectures, theatrical shows, and athletic events. The athletics team is called as UWA tigers that receive many awards.
University of West Alabama was established in 1835 named Livingstone Female Academy as the former name supported by the church. Because the students increased, the campus was renamed into Livingstone Normal College in 1878 to 1929. Besides, there were some campuses released in several areas.
