University of Corsica Pasquale Paoli is under the Academy of Corsica. It is a French university that located in Corte, Haute-Corse. University of Corsica Pasquale Paoli was founded by Filippo Antonio Pasquale li Paoli or Pasquale Paoli. He was a Corsican leader and patriot, the president of the Executive Council of the General Diet of the People of Corsica. He designed and wrote the Constitution of the state. The Corsican republic was a representative democracy that the elected Diet of Corsican Representatives had no master. Paoli’s government claimed the same jurisdiction as the Republic of Genoa. Following the French conquest of Corsica in 1768, Paoli saw the Corsican resistance. He returned after the French Revolution and established the University of Corsica.
