University of Northern British Columbia is often abbreviated as UNBC. It is a small university that is situated in Prince George, BC. It also has local some campuses.

It has more than 4,000 students. It is one of the members of the University of the Arctic. It received the trade name of “Canada’s Green University” in 2007as its northern latitude.

Student Society of the Northern Undergraduate is known as NUGSS. It is non-profit organization as the voice for the university students. It facilitates many events, including Final Affair and annual backyard barbecue. Its executive contains 5 executive directors and 6 associates. They are elected every year.

The Student Society of Northern Graduate is known as NBCGSS. It was established in 1997, about ten year after the UNBC was established.. It represents around 750 part-time and full-time graduate students. Each year, NBCGSS conducts some events, such as: a summer trip, a ski trip and winter/semi formals.
