University of New Mexico (New Mexico or UNM) is a research university that located in Alburquerque, New Mexico. It is categorized as the largest post-secondary institution in the state in total enrollment across all campuses in 2002 and one of the state’s largest employers. It was founded in 1889 and offers bachelor, master, doctoral, and professional degree programs in wide variety of fields.
The central campus of University of New Mexico (New Mexico or UNM) is home to four museums: the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology in the anthropology building, the Geology and Meteorite Museums in Northrop Hall, the Southwest Biology Museum in CERIA building and the University Art Museum in the Center for the Arts. To lessen the environmental impact of the campus, it has been reducing the campus energy usage through monitoring and retrofitting cooling, heating,water,and lighting technologies. It picked up this University grade on the College Sustainability Report Card 2009 improved from a “C” to “B”. It was a great development for this university.
