McGill University is a public research university with English-language in Montreal, Canada. It was founded in 1821 by royal charter issued by King George IV. It bears the name of James Mcgill, a prominent Montreal merchant from Scotland. The main campus is located at the foot of Mount Royal in Downtown Montreal and the second campus is near fields and forested lands in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue; and there is on the Montreal Island, 30 km west of the main campus.

There are many of clubs and student organizations at McGill University. Many of them are centered around McGill’s student union building, the University Center. This campus has an active students’ society that represented by the undergraduate Students’ Society of McGill and the Postgraduate Students’ Society of McGill. Each faculty and department has its own student governing body such as the Arts Undergraduate Society (AUS), the Science Undergraduate Society (SUS), and the Medical Students Society.
