Lincoln University was founded in 1854 as the nation’s first degree-granting Historically Black College and University (HBCU). It was originally named as Ashmun Institute and renamed Lincoln University in 1866 in honor of President Abraham Lincoln. So, that is way this university has “Lincoln” name.
There are some colleges in Lincoln University, they are College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; College of Professional, Graduate, and Extended Studies; and College of Science and Technology. For the most popular majors, there are Business, Management, Marketing; Communication, Journalism, and related programs; Social Sciences, Health Professions; and Criminal Justice.
