Kutztown University of Pennsylvania is commonly called KU. It was established in 1866 and known as an American public University that is located in rural Kutztown, Pennsylvania. First, Kutztown University was born as the Keystone Normal School which is specializing in teacher education. The name changed to Kutztown State Teachers College in 1928. Then, the school expanded the programs outside of education to be christened Kutztown State College in 1960 and finally it was named Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 1983.

This University has a motto “Learn…to make a difference”. It represents that this University can help students to be successful in education by learning. Students are educated to always learning to create a difference achievement. Creativity is an essential part of its academic life. It brings this university to have strong art program, a creative culture appears on campus. All students, art major or not, have to be innovative and can express their experience there.
