Keene State College is a liberal arts college that located in Keene, New Hampshire. It is a member of the University System of New Hampshire and of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges. ‘Enter to learn; go forth to serve’ is the motto of this college. It was established in 1909 as a teacher’s college as Keene Normal School and changed Keene Teachers College. This college has more than 5400 students. Owl is the mascot of this college.
Keene State College offers more than 40 areas of undergraduate study in the liberal arts, social sciences, sciences, and professional programs. There are some notable majors such as Geography, Architecture, Environmental Studies, Journalism, and Theater and Dance. The fact is that Film Studies and Communication are some of the fastest growing majors in Keene’s Factbook 2010 and 2011. The Film Studies program hosts an annual student film festival. This university recently became the first accredited university in the nation to offer a four-year undergraduate degree in Holocaust and Genocide Studies.
