Indiana University of Pennsylvania was founded in 1871 by Indiana County Investors. It is 89 km northeast of Pittsburg. It is governed by a local Council of Trustees and the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. It has some branch campuses at Northpoint,Monroeville, and Punxsutawney. In the 2013, it has been included as one of “Best Northeastern” schools by The Princeton Review.
