Central State University was established in 1887 and first named as Wilberforce State College and Central State College. The state legislature established as a two-year program for normal and industrial training. It was originally located with Wilberforce University, a four-year institution devoted to classical academic education. The main campus of Central State University is located in Wilberforce, 6.4 km northeast of Xenia, 29 km east of Dayton and midway between Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio. A branch campus is located in Dayton.
Today, this university is expanding Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, and Mathematics (STEAM) academic programming, research and education. There are four colleges; College of Business, Education, Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, Science and Engineering. College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences is an interesting one. It consists of some majors such as Humanities, Fine and Performing Arts, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Military Science. Three others are nice too to reach a bright future.
