West Chester University of Pennsylvania is located in West Chester, about 40 km west of Philadelphia. It was ranked 69th in the Master’s Universities category by U.S. News & World Report for 2009. It offers more than 100 graduate and undergraduate programs in the arts and sciences, business, and public affairs, the social sciences, visual and performing arts, health sciences, and teacher education.

West Chester University of Pennsylvania provides some facilities that serve the local community as well as the campus such as speech/hearing and reading clinic; the library; a planetarium; a music library. There is a unique organization in West Chester University, it is Institute for Women. This Institute is an independent organization which designed to represent the interests of women on the campus. It runs as the parent organization for the Women’s center, the Women’s Studies Program, and the Title IX, and Sex Discrimination Board. The director and a board of directors head this Institute.
