University of Witten/Herdecke University (UW/H)

Address: Alfred-Herrhausen-Straße 50, 58448 Witten

We could say that Witten/Herdecke University is one of the best private university in Germany which is situated in Witten, small town in North Rhine Westphalia province. There are so many reasons to support that statement, first because Witten/Herdecke University became the first private institution (previously college) in Germany which receive higher accreditation as “Universitat”, consequently, it can accept more students. UW/H is also considered on the same level as Germany’s state university, they are granted to run doctoral program also beside running master program which have been run for almost 2 decades. UW/H had interesting history because its founding leaded to a massive controversy related with its status as Universitat. But, after fighting for years, they could prove that they deserve to be among top universities in Germany, considered as “Humboldtian”. Now, they become role model for structures, theoretical training and innovative approaches of tuition fees. With more than 1500 student enrolled in 2014, they can secure its funding to run the university.
