The University of Sunderland is university that is located in Sunderland. It has more than 16,000 students. The university has two campuses that are located in Sunderland and one campus in London. The campuses that are located at Sunderland are City Campus and Sir Tom Cowie Campus.

Formerly, Sir Tom Cowie Campus was St Peter’s Campus. It was opened among the 1990s. The name was chaged as Sir Tom Cowie Campus in 2002. This campus consists of Wearbank House, David Goldman Informatics Centre, North Shore, Library, Reg Vardy Centre, David Puttnam Media Centre, Ceramics department, National Glass Centre, etc.

Formerly, City Campus was Chester Road Campus. It houses Sciences Complex that was opened in 2011 and CitySpace gym and leisure that were opened in 2009.

The campus in London was opened on April 2012. It is located at Canary Wharf. It offers several courses, like: business, nursing, accounting & financial management and tourism & hospitality.

The University has four academic faculties: Arts, Design & Media; Business & Law; Education & Society; and Applied Science.
