University of Hertfordshire is public research university that is sited in Hertfordshire, UK. It is largely based in Hatfield. The predecessor institution was established as Hatfield Technical College in 1952. In 1992, the British government gave university status to this university. The academic activities are structured into eleven schools with around twenty four research centres and fifty academic departments. The University provides postgraduate, undergraduate, online distance learning, short courses , and CPD. The university provides courses in business, architecture, education, humanities, engineering, pharmacy, computing, natural sciences, astronomy, and social sciences.
Primarily, the University has two campuses: de Havilland and College Lane. There are some facilities, such as: a science park, climbing wall, a pool, laboratory, art galleries, Weston auditorium, and teaching observatories. There is a bus company for the students’ transport. This university has more than 2,700 staff with over 24,500 students. There are about 2,000 international students that come from 85 countries.
