University for the Creative Arts is a university that specializes in art and design. It is often abbreviated as UCA. It is located in the south of England. It was founded in 2005. In May 2008, it got the university status from the Privy Council. Its campuses are spread in Canterbury, Farnham, Rochester, and Epsom. Previously, it had one campus in Maidstone. But, the campus was closed in 2014. It has about 7,000 students.  It provides some courses, including design, art, fashion, architecture and moving image. The courses are presented for non-degree further education, including diploma, degree and doctorate level. There are several notable alumni from this university, such as: Karen Millen (fashion designer), Zandra Rhodes (fashion designer), Julie Verhoeven (illustrator/artist and fashion designer), Roger Dean (artist), Humphrey Ocean (artist), Martin Lambie-Nairn (graphic designer), Tony Hart (TV presenter), James Swain f(ilmmaker, artist), Bob Holness  (TV and radio presenter), David Hulin (Animation Director), etc.
