It was awarded university status after the approval of the state college Presidents’ Council and Secretary of Higher Education Rochelle Hendricks.
Thomas Edison State College has four schools for study, they are The School of Applied Science and Technology which provides students with innovative degree programs to gain expertise in the fields of the applied sciences; The School of Business and Management which provides relevant,rigorous, and career programs that prepare to add value in the dynamic global marketplace; W. Cary Edwards School of Nursing which provides students whom want an alternative to campus-based instruction; and The John S. Watson School of Publc Service and Continuing Studies that offers degree programs and advanced certificate programs.
