The Robert Gordon University is commonly abbreviated as RGU. It was founded by Robert Gordon as an educational institution in the 18th century. It is public university that is located in the city of Aberdeen. It got university status in 1992.

RGU runs a single campus that is sited at Garthdee. There are several main buildings in the campus, such as: Sir Ian Wood building, Aberdeen Business School building, Faculty of Health & Social Care building, The RGU: SPORT building, The International College building, Garthdee House and The Scott Sutherland building.

The university is organized into 3 faculties: Faculty of Health & Social Care, Faculty of Design & Technology and Aberdeen Business School. Each faculty is sub-divided into some Schools or Departments. The university’s activities are also supported by many administrative departments.

The Student Union runs a full-colour magazine named Radar that is published every 2 months. The articles are written by students. The magazine covers student life, campus events, music news, music reviews, careers, fashion sports, and, health. On campus, there is student radio station named RGU Radio. The university also has RGU: TV that produces several videos about campus events and some topical issues. The student distributes the video online via YouTube channel.
