Saint Paul University is a Catholic Pontifical University that federated with the University of Ottawa. It is entrusted to the Congregation of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. It is a fully bilingual institution that offering instruction in English and French. It houses four faculties; Human Sciences, Philosophy, Canon Law, and Theology. The Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky Institute of Eastern Christian Studies offers undergarduate and graduate degrees in Eastern Christian Studies including the Eastern Orthodox, non-Chalcedonian, Assyirian, and Eastern Catholic churches.

Saint Paul University is the member of the Association of Colleges and Universities of the Canadian Francophonie, a network of academic institutions of the Canadian Francophonie. It also offers education for the laity ad candidates for ordination in the Roman Catholic, Anglican,and Eastern Catholic Churches. The standard ordination-track degrees are the Bachelor of Theology and Master of Divinity. There two famous alumni from this university,they are Sister Helen PrejeanM.A. and Cardinal Francis Eugene George, OMI.
