North Carolina A&T State University (North Carolina A&T) is simply called A&T. It is a public, coeducational, historically black, research university that located in Greensboro, North Carolina, United States. It was founded by act of the North Carolina General Assembly, on March 9,1891, as The “Agricultural and mechanical College for the Colored Race”. It is the second college under the provisions of the Morrill Land-Grant Acts and first for people of color in the state of North Carolina.
North Carolina A&T State University (North Carolina A&T) ranks third in sponsored funding among University of north Carolina system institutions. The school’s students, alumni, and sports teams are known as “Aggies”. It is the athletic teams that represent North Carolina Agricultural and technical State University. It competes in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and has been a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference since 1969. Home football games are played at Aggie Stadium, while basketball, volleyball, and swimming events are held at the Ellis F.Corbett Sports Center.
