In central Pennsylvania, there is Lock Haven University which is located along the Susquehanna River and 48 km from the major towns of Williamsport and State College. It was founded in 1870 as the Central State Normal Scholl. It became Lock Haven of Pennsylvania after joining the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania offers 49 majors and certification with 47 minors. Most popular majors are education, health sciences, criminal justice, business, psychology, and etc. in Master’s Programs in education, counseling, sports studies, biology, and communication media. There is Honors Program available for qualified students.
This University also offers some facilities,they are technology, global perspective, and active learning. For technology, there are SMART Board, student laptop initiative, and wireless access in classrooms. For Global perspective, there are 120 students abroad in 2013-2014 and 120 international students get the climate on campus. Field experience, service, and undergraduate research are the applications of active learning.
