George Mason University (GMU) is the largest the public research in university in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It is located in Fairfax, Virginia, United States. In 1957, it is founded as a branch of the University and became an independent institution in 1972. It recognize for some programs. They are in economics, law, creative writing, computer science, and business. In 2011, Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS/COC) have accreditation this university to award bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. It has four campuses in United States; they are three in Northern Virginia section of the Piedmont, and one campus in the Blue Ridge. Fairfax campus is situated on 677 landscape acres with a large pond in a suburban environment in the city of Fairfax. This campus served by Washington Metro Orange Line at the Vienna, Fairfax, GMU station as well as Metrobus routes for students. In 2004, based on survey of 357 universities, it is ranked number one for diversity.
