Eastern Illinois University was founded in 1895 and is a public educational institution that has been named as one of the best colleges in regional universities (Midwest). EIU is located in the City of Charleston, about 140 miles northeast of St. Louis and 180 miles south of Chicago that offers a wide range of majors ranging from business and applied sciences, arts and humanities, sciences, to education and professional studies.
