Cooper Medical School of Rowan University was created as a partnership between Rowan University and Cooper University Hospital. It was established by the executive order of Governor Jon Corzine in 2009. It is located in Camden, New Jersey and will help address the physician shortage locally and nationally. It develops an innovative curriculum that focuses on small-group interactions and extended clinic time with patients for first and second-year students.

Cooper Medical School of Rowan University is placed on South Broadway on the Cooper Health Sciences campus. It provides good facilities. There are a 250-seat auditorium, a 140-seat multipurpose room, 25 active Learning Rooms, a Clinical Simulation Center, and a satellite medical library. The building is categorized as a Gold LEED certified building.

This university has received provisional and preliminary accreditation from Liaison Committee on Medical Education of the Association of American Medical Colleges. The school was upgraded to provisional status after being found to be in full compliance after a March 2014 LCME’s review.
